You might think that my long hiatus had something to do with baby moons, or resting, but no—Instead, I was lost in a terrifying internet-server purgatory, which meant that I have been unable to post anything, or access my website for weeks… The upshot is that now I have pro hosting with lots of bandwidth, so that next time I post naked pictures of myself, everyone can come on over! And once again, I am promising to be a good blogger, and to post often, even regularly. We’ll see.
Summer Love

How to sum up a summer? Wait! It’s not over yet. But August always makes me feel so sad, even though I love Fall, and have resolved to revel in the beauty of Winter, too…It’s just the fraying of the edges of Summer that leaves me feeling wistful and so aware of time passing, and beginnings and endings.

We are still moving into our house, still trying to finish painting our house, still a little bit at loose ends, although I always tend to expect more from myself than is humanly possible, and in fairness, we have made radical progress, considering the state of things a few months ago.

In all, we’re doing well! The kids have settled back into Queenstown, and we are all in Cosmo’s thrall. These baby days are just as sweet and fun and lovely as all of my kids’ infancies have been. And yet, Cosmo is completely different in personality from his siblings. This is a given, obviously, but it always astounds me how much of who we are is *there* at birth. We all love him so much.

Looking at these photos, which are now a few weeks old, I am thinking now that we need to get back to the beach some more, back to the pool, back to the river, while there is still time. It has been—it is—a beautiful summer. So much beauty.

I wish the same for you.
