Wow, that’s quite the title, isn’t it? I’m kind of relishing the almost-sleaze… But stay with me for a minute, because I’m actually completely serious here. Over the years, I have come to appreciate more and more my mother’s ultra-thrifty approach to cooking, and I have become increasingly organized and efficient in my own kitchen (which admittedly, isn’t saying much). But I have noticed that a few tweaks here and there and just a tiny bit of planning can make a world of difference, in terms of health, and the bank account.

I really love to plan, although I’m not terribly good at it. But I have noticed that even if I have a general idea of what’s going to happen in the kitchen over the coming week, everything tends to fall into place.

5. Make two meals at once
6. Make too much
7. Label everything.
