Felix is almost 7 months old! For the very first time ever, last week, I left Felix at home with Daddy Lee, and I drove 5 minutes down the road to have a visit with a friend. It felt very strange, but all was well, of course. Little Felix is now sitting up and creeping around, and pulling himself up to standing… And he remains the happiest baby ever in the world, continually brimming over with smiles and chuckles for all of us, especially his older siblings. He is just frankly in love with his Daddy, and of course, the feeling is mutual.
Felix still spends most of his time in-arms. For longer trips out into the world, walks, and when I am going full-on in housecleaning mode, we use the ever-fabulous Ergo, which has been one of the absolute best investments in kid-equiment.
But for casual household stuff, making tea, or hanging out, my favourite is the ring sling given to me by my friend (and New Brunswick birth attendant & wise woman extraordinaire!) Natalie. Isn’t it gorgeous? Thank you so much, Nat! Love to you.

Your description of leaving Felix with Lee and then going off by yourself–just 5 minutes away–and the good feeling that occurred did bring back memories. That was good, but having to leave a baby day after day all day would have been heart-breaking for me. So you and I are lucky.

Hi Nancy! Yes. It would be heart-breaking for me, too, to have to leave my kids with someone else every day. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to spend every day with my kids, and for the fact that Lee and I share much of the child-rearing responsibilities.

That last photo of you and Felix is awesome! You look vibrant and he looks so happy! And the one of him and Lee, aww 🙂
