Day 4–Play Music Every Morning

January 5, 2013 by Yolande 9 Comments

Ok, I’m going to stop with the videos.  It’s too weird, and I have nothing useful to say…I will make daily notes about my project though, and I’ll continue to hope there is some organic development of shape or form, because right now it’s just a bit of a wank, which is alright, I guess.

Anyway. Here I am thus far:

1. Writing everything down

2. Getting up early

3. Surrendering to movement every morning

4. Playing music daily

I do feel better, to be honest.  My ability to parent effectively is very much related to taking my private time when everyone else is sleeping.  It gets pretty sacred pretty fast. yo

Lovely, Yolande! You play beautifully and your music spoke a thousand words. I will take this resolution and simply play music on a CD or iTunes. Thank you for sharing such intimate moments with us.

I feel like all of my days are a bit of wonk, nice to have company out there:)
The best thing I ever did for my child was to find some alone time just for me. If I had not learned to do that, I honestly think I would have been a really bad mom. You have to take care of yourself first, like when you fly and they tell you to put on YOUR oxygen mask before you help your child, it’s good to take care of yourself, your kids will respect you for it!

Thank you so much, Nina! I wish you the very best…and I have to admit, San Diego sounds very balmy and warm right now. Happy New Year from frozen New Brunswick!

Once again, thank you for sharing!
I just wanted to tell you that you should continue with vídeos even if you don’t have anything to say and at the end of the period make short movie out of it all. I think is a great, zen way to take a look at yourself in the mirror (camera). Popculture got it best. It will be all there, and help you see things, I believe!
I am doing something similar, taking a picture everyday. At the end I will put those together and see what mattered in each one of my days in the past year. What was I concentrated on.
It is a bit scary, but intriguing!
Some days I am conscious of the picture choice and others it just comes. Like today’s of my one year old who started eating alone with a spoon ( perfectly, I must say 🙂 sneaking soup out of her sister’s plate!
    xo

Thank you so much for the vote of confidence, Elena! I love the picture idea, and you’re absolutely right, this kind of practice does tend to illuminate where our heads are… All these little ways of figuring out who we are… Have a beautiful day!
