Going, Coming Back

March 25, 2013 by Yolande 2 Comments

Before we left for our trip to Montreal, Horus really stepped up his production in the clay studio.  So sweet

I was attending a seminar during most of our stay in Montreal, so although we did plenty of exploring and urban adventuring, I am embarassed to say that I have almost no photographs of the beautiful city.  But I did snap this shot, above, of Lee, Treva and Felix at the bio-dome.  Don’t get me started on what I think of the whole animals-in-captivity thing.  But rest assured I communicated my ambivalence to the kids.  They’re suitably conflicted.  Phew. (Please click on the photo above to really get a good look at how hilarious Treva is.  She is a riot, honestly.)

We visited with our friend T. and his gorgeous little daughter.  Everyone got along extremely well, including the great danes.

As you can see, T. has a pretty fantastic space.

The first thing we did upon arriving home, was to go out for a walk in the woods with bows and arrows.  Eastern Canada received another blizzard just in time for Spring, but it’s going, it really is.  (Lee has made several bows and arrows as well, now.  He’s getting quite proficient.  We’re going to start selling them.  Just wait.)

And just like that, we’re back in the swing of things.  And yet, somehow, transformed.  We had a really great trip.  Sorry I’ve been away from here for so long!  Looking forward to spending a little more time hanging out.  But now I have to go to bed.  We’re cutting and piling wood tomorrow, and everything is go!

Yo

Gah! I love that little girl so much!! Every time Wes makes his frown face it reminds me of Tree and makes me miss you and your family. I’m glad you had a fun and successful trip. I can’t wait to see the work it inspired.

Ooo! Maybe an Easter/Fertility post next week? As much as I’d love them to be, I don’t think Cadbury mini-eggs are fertility food. 😉

P.S. Wes says to let Lee know that the first weekend that works for you, he’ll be up with two tanks of propane…oh boy.

Sam!! Totally missing you too. I was *going* to do an easter post, but…I got the flu (same time as last year, what?!). Luckily, it was just a two-day thing, and I’m feeling better (we all are–everyone was under the weather except Felix, of course!). Fertility post! What a good idea. Although, hm. OK, yeah! Anyway, we would really love to see you guys–we’re gearing up for a firing, and it WILL start on the 19th of April! (We’re getting better at the dates thing, I swear!). But in any case, I want to see YOU, so maybe I could take you out for lunch sometime soonish? Let’s connect in the near future. Big love, yo
