I posted a couple of photographs in earlier posts of Horus with his bow & arrows. We have been on a major Robin Hood kick, and during every nature walk, Horus gathers straight hard wood from Oak and Apple trees, to bring home to Dad who has been helping him fashion his sophisticated weaponry. Lee spent a couple of hours next to the fire with Horus, cutting the duck feathers we got from Larry down the road who had gone duck hunting last week, and carving notches in the straight arrow wood, to fit the fletching to the shaft. I was a bit concerned that the arrows might be too well-made, too accurate, and too, ahem, good…but Lee assures me they are fine, and not even close to being deadly. And also, of course, we have reiterated to Horus that we *never* point our arrows towards any human being, or pet, or even animal, until we are officially hunting. When you’re 8 or maybe 12, darling. (We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.)
