Summer Garden, Harvest Garden

The beautifully groomed and blooming Kingsbrae gardens in St. Andrews (where we went for Felix’s birthday) were a stark contrast to the overgrown jungle of our own vegetable plot.  I made a strong effort to plant in the spring, while heavily pregnant with Cosmo, but since his birth, things have grown wild.  We did get an *incredible* haul of garlic–which I love to grow, because it requires absolutely nothing other than the initial planting and mulching in the fall…which we’re coming up to now.  The kids were thrilled with our zucchinis, and they have decided that the massive specimen they’re holding in the last photo here, will be the main ingredient of Treva’s birthday cake, also coming up.

August is a tough one for me, but invariably, by the time September rolls around, I don’t mind the cooler evenings and mornings, and the suggestion of bringing everything in, harvesting, hunkering down.

WELCOME!

I work with smart, independent women who are sick of feeling disempowered by the myth that childbirth is a medical event from which we need to be delivered. I help mothers navigate the process of planning and manifesting their freebirth without fear. I'm also a writer and a ceramic artist. Feel free to get in touch with me at sasamat(dot)clark(at)gmail(dot)com.
